What is your beauty secret?
Doing my makeup while wearing lingerie helps the end result look so much more natural. I don’t end up over doing it! The end result is a natural elevation of who I am.
What’s your favourite beauty hack and why?
My favourite beauty hack is using clear lipgloss as a highlighter. I learned this from the stellar makeup artist Giselle Ali - she did my makeup for a recent Disney project. Lipgloss works so well and helps me to keep my makeup bag minimal while travelling.
What is the beauty product you cannot live without?
Moisturiser! I know that its not makeup per-say but its essential to any of the makeup sitting right on the face. After applying Vitamin C, a little bit of rose lip oil, and a moisturising sunscreen, I feel so much more fresh, protected and beautiful - then a bit of makeup might come next.
When do you feel the most beautiful?
When I see my smile and notice it’s the same as my Mother, Grandmother and my Great-Grandmother. I see it in pictures and videos and people have told me my whole life that I look like them. I always thought my Mother was the most beautiful woman in the world, so it helped me to see beauty in my own features.
What does Black beauty mean to you?
Black beauty means 'reverence', I think it’s so powerful and impossible to diminish. Melanated beauty is like a soulful wildfire. It’s rich, undeniable and awe-inspiring.
